fashion whitewash

during Fashion Week am always looking forward to Rag & Bone, Balmain, Alexander Wang and Marc Jacob's shows. they are young and usually very distinct from any other shows.
they set trends.

but the collections from Rag & Bone and Wang's Spring/Summer 2011 - am finding it a bit bland.
they are in a white bandwagon. simple and minimalistic.

Balmain stayed with previous trend of rock and roll while Marc Jacob is moving on.
with a very 60s take and colorful indeed.

i am not very much into all the simplistic take designer's are in right now.
remember 90s and early 2000s? been there, done that.
we should all have fun.
so if the clothes below are the Spring/Summer 2011 collections, i would be very happy indeed.

Rag & Bone Fall 2010

Balmain Fall 2009

And yeah as the track during Balmain's show - he really did it his way. same way - ripped, holed, black and tough.
Balmain S/S 2011

and I am a bit partial on this one.
it's Freja.
as much as I disagree with all the whitewash going on right now
Freja always brings out the beauty of the clothes she's in
Rag & Bone S/S 2011
the sad thing with all these - Balmain became old and i can't remember even just a single look from Wang's S/S 2011 collection.

so took a peek at style.com - strangely am finding it fresh! just like revisiting Rag & Bone's collection.
there's hope then?

maybe i should have just said - Wang, Bone, Jacob and Decarnin will always be super heroes of fashion.
oh, how influential they really are!
